Chalk of lake

We applied the chalk to the lake on the 22nd Feb 2018. I now know why they charge so much for completing this, after 6 hours of non stop loading the boat, throwing in the chalk and fighting to stay upright in the boat due to the chalk clogging up on the bottom of the boat, it talk 3 days to get over this.

As most of you are aware, as part of our conditions of changing from a CL site to East Lindsey District Council Licence site we had to install another shower block. We are pleased to say these have now started, with the footings dug and poured. We are now just waiting a programme from our builder.

Grass Carp

We can confirm that there are still at least 2 Grass Carp within the lake, 1 netted early in the year being about 3ft early 20lb and the other being caught twice during the year at 2ft and 10lb.

We can confirm that we have just given the go ahead for a delivery of 200 Rud,Roach and 10 Bream of 5lb each to be delivered end of January 2018.Also the lake will have chalk applied to reduce the silk on the bottom. A date is to be confirmed but the when a date is fixed the lake will be closed so these works can take place.

We can now confirm that we have been successful in winning 2 grants to help repair the banks and swims and the other to install electric fencing to help keep Otters and Mink out,These projects has been supported by an award from the Angling Improvement Fund, which reinvest a share of Rod Licence income to improvement projects and activities at fisheries. Some good news to end our first season!We have now had planning approved for the change of use to the South field (between house and the public house) and now allowed up to 10 units on site across our 1.5 acra site, including tents.This unfortunately means we cannot stay in operation as a caravan club site but will now operate as a small commercial site. With winter here we are catching up on the much needed cutting back of the trees and underwater snags, most of which have been done with the island outstanding. Once completed we intend to have another netting session to try and determine what the lake is still holding and to remove at least 600lb of fish under 6". Once this has been completed sometime in January, stocking of Chub,Barbel and Perch will be undertaken along with anything we feel should be restocked.So hopefully we can see som...
